The Ugly Side

My recent health problems, which turned out to be the gallbladder, have given me pause. I have been thinking about death a lot, while sitting around and wondering what was wrong with me to cause me such pain. It’s made me realize just how delicate our bodies are.

I am considering, based on the surgeon's recommendations, weight loss surgery. This includes gastric by-pass and the lap band surgery … (You can read the rest of my post here).

Because of my weight I have had to go through too many surgeries. Gallbladder removal and Hysterectomy were both because of my weight. The gallbladder got really bad, softball size when it was finally taken out, I know what you are talking about with the 'pain'. I recovered very quickly from that, the only complication I had was that I can no longer eat chicken. Chicken made me so sick. Because of that I have been a vegetarian for 4 years. And hopefully soon I will be having the lapband surgery. It seems that the longer I stay fat the more stuff the doctors find to take out of me. I don't have much more they can remove, LOL!! Good luck with your gallbladder surgery. You will feel lots better afterwards, a little sore, but much better.

Losing weight is a battle I've fought all my life. And it isn't easy. Food is a comfort and I've often gotten trapped in that cycle of eating to forget.

I wish you the best with all this. We want you around old boy.
